World’s first decentralized pay-per-demand network is now live
DCN is almost a week old, and it is the perfect time to launch the platform it powers!
Please welcome — Compute Network!
Compute Network is a global, scalable, pay-per-use compute platform where anyone can upload and run their code on, and only pay for what you execute.
For well known use-cases such as web servers that have peak usages throughout the day, this approach can save up to 90% in costs compared to server rentals, with negligible effect on availability and performance!
How To Use
Step 1
Head over to https://app.computenetwork.io
Step 2
Connect your wallet by clicking on the Connect Wallet button and sign the message.
The message you are signing authenticates to the Compute Network’s backend that you are the legitimate owner of your wallet, similar to the signature process on Opensea.
This signature does not trigger any transaction, does not cost anything.
Step 3
Credits are used to automatically pay for the code you execute on the platform.
If your code is not used — you dont pay anything, but it is still available 24/7!
To load credits simply click the “Add Credits” button on the Home page and select the amount of ETH to load.
After you confirm the transaction in your wallet (e.g Metamask) the USD value of the ETH you paid with will be credited to your account
Step 4
Once you load at least 10$ into your account, you will be able to start uploading your first app!
In order to do that, click on the large “Create Function” button at the bottom of the Home page, fill the details and upload a .zip containing your code.
Step 5
You can view, monitor and manage all the functions you created using the sidebar on the left of the page
Step 6
In order to access your code, you can the Endpoint at which your code is accessible via the “Manage” screen of your function.
Every Endpoint URL is generated by our backend and hosted on our global network.
Please Note:
Uploading and generating the Endpoint URL might take some time.
Step 7
That’s it!
You can configure your code’s environment, update to a new .zip and monitor your code’s metrics directly via our app!
Final Notes
Compute Network is now available for use!
While the platform has been rigorously tested by our team, we are still in beta and it is not yet recommended to be used in production or mission-critical applications.
Initially, all code will be manually reviewed by our team for security and support purposes to make sure the platform operates smoothly.
This step will be automated in the near future.
